Alessi PZ02 Candlestick - Aluminium

The PZ02 candleholder was designed by Peter Zumthor with home décor in mind, to later find its way into the Officina Alessi catalogue. The extremely simple candlestick has been embellished with small details, such as the gently flared collar. Representing the realisation of the idea of minimalism (a form developed just enough to fulfil its function), the candleholder is made, not by casting aluminium and finishing it, as is the case with most products, but by machining a block of aluminium on cutting machines. The raw charm of aluminium means that PZ02 will work best in ascetic surroundings.
