Small Monkey Decoration - Beechwood

The Small Monkey Decoration offers playful charm with its long, gripping paws and rounded, slightly unrealistic shapes that invite touch. Crafted from beechwood in two complementary shades, its natural tones reflect the original 1951 design. Its cheerful character pairs well with the larger monkey in the collection, creating a lively display for shelves or living spaces.

We've already had the monkey in the bath, so it's time for the monkey in the living room, and not just any monkey, but a monkey from the collection of legendary designer Kay Bojesen. The wooden decoration, or toy if you prefer, was designed in 1951 and made from two types of wood - a lighter and a darker shade (different types of wood, depending on the model). The long, gripping paws, the characteristic rounded shapes and the animal's cheerful appearance make you... want to monkey around - and indoors! The monkey presented here is the smaller monkey in the collection, who feels and looks best in the company of his older (and bigger) sister. Together, they can get up to some serious mischief! All of the products in the Kay Bojesen collection are designs with soul. The wooden toys, designed years ago by the well-known Danish designer , are intended to awaken the child in their users, evoke memories of their earliest years and encourage a carefree enjoyment of the playful forms. In keeping with Kay Bojesen's concept, all the pieces in his collection have unrealistic, slightly rounded shapes that are pleasing to the eye and pleasant to the touch. It is these shapes, together with a bit of magic pushed into the toys presented here by the legendary designer's character, that make everyone who passes by simply have to touch them. Like a child...
