Jonathan Charles Cameo Profiles Shadow Boxes - Set of 3This set of three artworks by Jonathan Charles is inspired by Roman plaster cameos, where portraiture was reduced to its purest form - profile, relief and proportion. Each cast cameo echoes the classical tradition of honoring identity through restraint and balance. Presented in patinated antique silver frames with linen matting, the cameos are set within concentric layers of cream mats, stepped inward to create a subtle illusion of depth. The composition draws the eye gently toward the center, elevating these classical profiles into quiet studies of history, craftsmanship and enduring form.JC ModernEliminating unnecessary detailing doesn't mean eliminating the perfect details. That's what sets Jonathan Charles' modern accents apart from others. Luxurious materials in the hands of craftsmen who have a discerning eye for line, curve, geometry and proportion are transformed into splendid signature pieces that uplift the environment in which they are placed. As opposed to much of the contemporary movement, modern style incorporates practical functionality and ease of use, especially welcome elements in today's homes.JONATHAN CHARLES FURNITUREAt Jonathan Charles, it's all in the detail.
