The vase offers contemporary styling with its handcrafted oxidized brass construction that resembles traditional pottery. Its almost black finish provides a striking appearance while the brass material adds durability and character. The piece develops a distinctive patina over time, enhancing its unique personality with age.
Wholly contemporary but taking inspiration from traditional ceramic vases and ancient Greek vessels, Sofie Østerby's 'Hydro Vase' is a stylish statement on material properties and the beauty of brass. The piece is handcrafted in a Portuguese workshop where the ancient technique of creating traditional armor has been retained — the result is an almost black oxidized brass vase that is shaped to resemble classic pottery. This large version of the 'Hydro Vase' is manufactured by Fredericia Furniture and presents a distinct personality that is enhanced by a patina that will grow over time.
