The container offers artistic storage with its hand-painted graffito pattern of tightly packed black flecks. Its curved silhouette provides visual interest, while the bisque porcelain construction ensures durability. The sporadic but consistent decoration covers the majority of the exterior and lid, and the ceramic chalk crayon technique creates unique stroke-like textures.
Conceived by research-based design studio Formafantasma for Cassina, the 'Post Scriptum' collection brings together a series of hand-painted porcelain objects. Inspired by silhouettes found in the extensive Ginori Manufactory archives, the designers have applied a contemporary facelift to a family of familiar shapes in the form of graphic 'graffito' decorations. This is achieved through hand drawing each graffito pattern onto bisque porcelain with ceramic chalk crayons and firing the surface to set the pattern. On this curved container, the grafitto pattern takes shape as a series of tightly packed black paint stroke-like flecks for a sporadic but consistent decoration that covers a majority of the exterior and lid.
