The Sentiment paper weight by Colin King features a pear-shaped sculptural form cast from brass with an antique finish. Its weighted construction holds down documents and papers, while the solid brass casting gives it enough heft to function as a makeshift bookend. The antique brass finish develops a subtle patina over time, adding depth to the hand-crafted silhouette.
Long a symbol of abundance and femininity, the image of the pear holds much weight and meaning — see the work of Georgia O'Keefe, Cézanne and Vincent Van Gogh. Here, designer Colin King has embraced the simple fruit, transforming it into a sculptural piece cast from brass with an antique finish that may also double as a paper weight. Whether employed to hold down documents and papers, as a makeshift bookend or simply as a sculptural piece, the 'Sentiment' paperweight will introduce a thoughtful beauty into any space.
