The Boules d'Escalier: The Flávia & Frank Abubakir Collection offers an in-depth visual exploration of hundreds of staircase finials drawn from one of the most remarkable private collections of its kind. The volume groups pieces by color, pattern, and surface technique, presenting glass and crystal spheres that reflect the artisanal craftsmanship of a bygone era. Photography by Harald Gottschalk captures the collection across settings in Portugal and Brazil, while written reflections by Flávia Abubakir provide personal context on the history of the collection. A rare nineteenth-century catalogue discovered at auction is also included, adding historical depth to the narrative.
