The Walter Rug combines traditional craftsmanship with its hand-knotted construction using the special gabbeh technique. The yarns are dyed with deliberately uneven color penetration, creating unique movement and depth throughout the surface. Its wool and silk blend provides a softer hand feel, while the artisan knotting ensures each piece remains truly one-of-a-kind. W200 x D300 cm.
As seen at our original rural retreat, Babington House, traditional woven rugs are an essential part of the country-house look. The Walter is hand-knotted in India by artisans who use a special technique called gabbeh, in which the yarns are dyed in such a way that the colour penetration is deliberately uneven, resulting in a unique movement of colours. A blend of wool and silk gives a softer hand feel, and because every rug is painstakingly knotted by hand, each is a true one off.
