The December Free Shape rug combines artistic design with traditional Persian carpet-making craft, featuring bold black-edged leaves that swirl and overlap in a hypnotic pattern. Its asymmetric, zigzagged edges give the piece a distinctive silhouette, while the warm brown palette draws inspiration from the winter season. Designed by India Mahdavi as part of Golran's Garden of Eden collection, the rug blends hand-crafted construction with a contemporary approach to colour and movement.
Created by India Mahdavi, Golran's 'Garden of Eden' collection is inspired by Persian gardens in a nod to both the designer's background and the brand's craft. Characterised by a pattern of bold, black edged leaves that hypnotically swirl and overlap as if being swept away by the wind, the asymmetric rug introduces a modern take on colour and movement into any space while simultaneously paying homage to the ancient Persian tradition of carpet making. With its zigzagged edges and brown palette inspired by winter, 'December Free Shape' is a contemporary take on a centuries-old craft that is both refreshing and beguiling.
