The Josephine rug features a hand-tufted wool construction, where yarn is passed through a frame-stitched fabric backing using a tufting tool to create a thick, dense pile. Its thicker pile provides a soft, cushioned feel underfoot, while the natural wool fibres offer durability suited to medium-traffic areas. A rug pad is recommended to prevent slippage and protect flooring, and periodic rotation helps maintain even wear over time. Initial shedding is a normal characteristic of natural fibre rugs and typically subsides after 6-8 weeks of regular vacuuming with the beater bar off.
