The framed art print features a striking portrait with stark black pigment on a neutral background. Its compelling contrast creates visual drama, while the light brown frame adds warmth to the composition. The piece combines psychological themes with contemporary artistic expression, and the sturdy frame construction ensures lasting durability.
Taken from Lemon's series of framed art prints by South African artist Ronelle Pienaar Jenkin, 'Sunset 316' incorporates the themes that are central to the artist's work, namely psychology — our thoughts, behaviour and ways of being in the world. This striking portrait is all the more arresting for the use of stark black pigment on a clean and neutral background — a compelling contrast that only enhances the themes of ridicule, humour, pride, sanctimony, obscenity and irreverence that feature throughout Jenkin's work and this collection.
