The decorative vase combines geometric precision with handcrafted character through its conical form and raised surface bumps. Its white stoneware construction provides durability, while the textured exterior adds visual interest and tactile appeal. The hand-molded body features oblique and horizontal lines that create depth and dimension.
The 'Billy' vase collection is the vision of Serax designer Marie Michielssen and the result of a creative process that was a long time in the making. Following the release of a series of ceramic collections for the Belgian design brand, Michielssen created 'Billy' — a family of white stoneware vases united by a thread of oblique and horizontal lines that are combined with a hand-molded body and a distinct geometric quality. This small version of the 'Billy Vase 03' stands out for its pairing of a conical core with a series of spontaneous raised bumps across the surface, with the final effect expressing a sense of playfulness and reflecting Michielssen's inclination to matching mathematical bases with more rustic and handcrafted accents.
