The Layers large vase features a blown-glass construction with a translucent opal white finish, designed by Defne Koz and introduced at the 2017 Salone del Mobile. Its graphical form is part of a three-piece collection, where each vessel is shaped to nest within the others, allowing their translucent hues to overlap and create layered colour effects. The hand-blown glass construction gives each piece a subtle variation in tone and surface quality.
A statement vase deserves a statement entrance and 'Layers' got just that when it was unveiled by Italian-trained, Chicago-based designer Defne Koz at 2017's Salone del Mobile. Created for Nude, the vase collection is formed of three blown-glass vessels in graphical forms. Every piece, including this opal white vase, has been designed to sit within one another so that their translucent hues may overlap — the result being a magical prism of colour.
