The Sophia dessert plates by Marie Michielssen feature hand-painted blue ink drawings inspired by oriental calligraphy, giving each piece a spontaneous, expressive character. Crafted from stoneware, the irregular and intuitive shapes are formed through intensive handwork, resulting in unique imperfections that distinguish every individual plate. The hand-painted detailing is applied by the designer herself, ensuring an authenticity that machine production cannot replicate.
