The oval platter features hand-painted butterflies rendered in fine detail across textured ceramic construction. Its raised surface recalls the venation of butterfly wings, while the brilliant colors and fragile motifs add visual depth. The piece combines decorative naturalism with a sculptural quality suited to serving and display.
Fashion icon Claudia Schiffer captures the charm of the English countryside in her collection of ceramicware created in collaboration with Bordallo Pinheiro. ‘Cloudy Butterflies’ brings Schiffer’s elegant vision to the decorative naturalism long associated with the Portuguese ceramic brand. In fine detail, brilliant color and fragile motif, hand-painted butterflies are applied across a flight of pieces, which includes this oval platter. Textured ceramic recalls the raised venation of butterfly wings, while the beautifully-observed butterflies themselves take on an exquisite living quality.
