The faux tortoiseshell placemats feature a high-gloss lacquered finish, built up with 20 individual coats that are hand-polished between each application for a smooth, refined surface. The reverse of each mat is lined with cream velvet to protect table surfaces from scratching. The set is not suitable for very hot items such as saucepans or dishes straight from the oven, and should be kept out of prolonged direct sunlight. Supplied as a set of 4 in a gift box, each mat measures 33 x 33 cm (13" x 13").
