The decorative tray offers sculptural appeal with its ceramic construction and birch finish. Its clean circular top surface contrasts with the raw textured underside, creating visual interest through the interplay of smooth and jagged elements. The piece provides both practical serving functionality and decorative display options, while the mineral-inspired design adds natural character to any surface.
Taking its name from the Japanese for "rock", the sculptural 'Iwa' tray is a study in materiality and form. Crafted in ceramic, the piece has a serene mineral feel. A clean, circular top surface juxtaposes with a raw underside, evoking a rugged mountainous landscape. The interplay between the smooth and the jagged gives the tray a striking sculptural quality. Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl, the medium 'Iwa' in birch is suited to both practical serving and decorative display, as an arresting statement in its own right.
