The Daydreamer by Jack Paffett combines layers of thick and thin oil paint mixed with sand, creating a striking contrast between high-sheen and matte finishes. The textured surface reflects the artist's process of over-painting, erasing, and reworking, leaving visible remnants of earlier layers beneath the final composition. Bristol-based Jack Paffett uses his surroundings as a starting point before allowing spontaneous impulses to shape the canvas, resulting in an abstract piece with depth and tactile complexity.
