The Sicily vase offers distinctive character with its crowned head shape, hand-painted in vibrant multicolor patterns. Its round stoneware construction provides durability while celebrating traditional Sicilian aesthetics. The vessel features surrealistic design elements that blend cultural heritage with contemporary artistry, making it suitable for both decorative display and floral arrangements.
Hot on the heels of the hugely popular 'Feast' collection from British-Israeli chef Yotam Ottolenghi comes the 'Sicily' vase collection. Created in collaboration with artist Ivo Bisignano for Serax, the series journeys from the table to the outside, visually revisiting Bisignano's childhood home of Sicily where 'Testa di Moro' — colorful flower pots in the shape of crowned heads — are an important and striking part of the landscape. Here, they manifest with a surrealistic twist, with fish as pillars, lakes as fish, and mountains as kings and queens. The round hand-painted stoneware 'Sicily 02' vase is shaped as a crowned head and is simultaneously a cheerful ode to a distinctly Sicilian aesthetic and Ottolenghi’s bold cooking style.
