The ceramic vase features geometric optical designs inspired by 1960s monochromatic patterns, created through precise latex masking techniques. Its construction requires three stages of firing to achieve the final form, with the first solidifying the fresh earth in a plaster mould. The subsequent firings apply both black and white detailing layers, while the rectangular shape provides a modern aesthetic for contemporary displays.
The monochromatic optical designs popular in the 1960s were the source of inspiration for Nuove Forme's rectangular vase, in which a geometric design is created through latex masking. Three stages of firing are required for the vessel to take its final shape — the first to solidify the fresh earth poured into a plaster mould, then twice again for both the black and white layers of detailing.
