Although the artist grew up on the coast, this series intends to show a more sinister side to tidal images, referencing an 'incoming wave of bigotry' to question the notion of place, identity and belonging. About the artist Day Bowman often takes inspiration from the coastal landscape of a childhood spent growing up in a 'holiday destination seaside town'. The recipient of multiple awards, her artworks are a mix of abstract and figurative paintings that experiment with different mediums.
