Design table lamp Karl-Johan with dimmer switch Signe Hytte, Danish designer and creator of the lamp Karl-Johan, was inspired to her expressive lamp series during a walk in the autumnal forest. That is why the table lamp has an unmistakable mushroom shape. The short narrow base is made of Marquina marble. On top sits the "mushroom head", an almost spherical lampshade made of smoked glass. Technically, the lamp is still equipped with a small but fine detail: a dimmer switch. The Karl-Johan lamp series by Signe Hytte is produced and distributed by the Danish company New Works. The portfolio of the Copenhagen-based company includes furniture as well as lamps and other decorative and furnishing items. The style can be described as a mixture of design and art in the sense of Scandinavian minimalism.
