Original Product Description:

A call for the outdoor is also a call to protect our environment. The Wool & Wax Edition, our new picnic blanket design is layered with a waxed cotton waterproof backing. With a longer strap (to sling across the shoulder leaving your hands free) than our classic pure new wool picnic blanket, each rug is large enough and ideal for several adults but rolls up into an easy-to-carry bundle. The slim elegant strap adds a touch of style to the overall look. The soft top layer made of pure new wool is gloriously comfortable to sit on and protected from the dampness in the ground by the waxed cotton layer. The Wool & Wax Edition is our most eco-friendly picnic blanket so far and a gorgeous smart picnic accessory with beautiful British Heritage. The blanket, waxed cotton backing and leather straps are made in the UK 100% Pure new Wool with 100% Waxed Organic Cotton Waterproof Backing From design to manufacturing, we are keeping our carbon footprint as low as possible and we take it very seriously. Our furthest manufacturer is just over 500 miles away from our London studio. Our nearest artisan workshop is under 8 miles away and we are working with 3 workshops based in London! We have worked hard to source local mills, workshops, and leathersmiths with whom we have built long-standing relationships, supporting the British manufacturing heritage as well as doing our best to reduce our carbon footprint. We are all about creating beautiful accessories with the planet in mind! We are a proud member of Sedex helping us ensure an ethical and transparent supply chain. Our leather tanneries are awarded with a Silver medal by the LWG (Leather Working Group). We source organic cotton approved by the OCS (the Organic Cotton Standard is the International textile standard that assists in proving the agricultural origin of cotton) and by the Better Cotton Initiative. Our Pure new wool is certified mulesing-free.
