Original Product Description:
Designed by Finn Juhl, The Art Collector''s table is a versatile piece that has two forms. When closed it presents itself as a simple furnishing, but there is a special hidden feature. Upon closer inspection, there is a richness in detail - the tabletop can be unfolded to reveal a securely hidden glass case which can be a treasure chamber for your most valuable collectables. When unfolded, the leaves also function as two separate tabletops allowing for extra surface area for your tea or coffee while you admire your collectables on display. Constructed from American black walnut, with edges and a solid frame, the tabletop is veneered bringing out the textures of the wood and assuring that it is protected for everyday use. With the glass case being fitted separate from the wooden body, in a walnut frame, it is removable for other purposes. Contrast from all of this is offered in the brass hinges which reveal themselves when this table is opened, yet another detail to be admired in this piece. The Art Collector''s table is perfect for a traditional or classic aesthetic, have it in your living room for your favourite antique books, jewels, or maybe even a collection of Netsuke.
