The stool combines minimalist design with masterful craftsmanship through its solid chestnut construction. Its dovetail joints highlight the connecting points between wood pieces, while the box-like form provides both simplicity and structural integrity. The spartan approach creates a functional seating solution, and the chestnut wood ensures lasting durability.
One of a series of items designed by Le Corbusier for his 'Cabanon' getaway on the Côte d'Azur, the 'LC14 - Tabouret Maison du Brésil' stool is a perfect demonstration of the spartan approach the designer took to furnishing the project. Envisioning furniture pieces created to look like boxes, Le Corbusier's stool is at once simple and minimal, as well as masterful thanks to the dovetail joints that highlight the connecting points between the solid chestnut pieces.
