The Okin is named after the classical red dragon motif that adorns its surface. Dragon worship in Chinese culture has been around for the last 8,000 years, dragons being a symbol of power, nobility and honour, as well as luck and success - all things we would be happy to have in our lives. Other symbols featured on the Okin Table Lamp are auspicious clouds that express luck, joy, happiness and longing for a good life. These motifs are hand painted onto the clay and fired at a high temperature for a shiny glaze that does not fade.
