Ceiling light Futura with a handblown lampshade made of Murano glass The completely closed glass lampshade on the ceiling light Futura is opalescent at the bottom so that the light isn’t dazzling, and amber-coloured at the top, yet transparent so that the light can escape in all directions. The opal-transparent division of the glass lampshade is visually emphasised by a bronze metal ring. This division is only visual, however, since the lampshade is made of one piece of glass. A special glass blowing technique makes this possible. The ceiling light Futura comes from one of the most traditional glass blowers on the Island of Murano near Venice. The idea for this model was developed from a design by the Hangar Design Group, created for the renovation of the cafeteria of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. The lights which were designed for this purpose were strictly exclusive, but with Futura, an special light series has now come onto the market after being developed from this special light.
