Original Product Description:

LED pendant lamp Estela - an interesting light capsule For this pendant lamp, the design studio Mayice created a clear, single piece of borosilicate glass. The glass, which was mouth-blown by the experienced artisan Eduardo Garuti, encloses a cylindrical diffuser made of wood veneer. The wood veneer houses a dimmable LED light source and a straight opening on one side emits downward light that is softened by the glass. Estela offers a seamless connection between glass and wood and is a radiant luminaire with a heavenly quality. Madrid-based Studio Mayice, a multidisciplinary product design and architecture firm, was founded in 2013 by Imanol Calderón Elósegui and Marta Alonso Yebra. With a strong focus on materials - respecting both history and functionality - each design by Mayice presents itself with its own personality and aims to reflect the soul of a material. In many of Mayice's works we find an intelligent dialogue between craft and technology. In all of Mayice's work with glass, the reflection and refraction of light have always been very important, with the intention that wood, light and glass form a dialogue. The collection reflects respect for the environment, the authentic and natural, but also the ethereal and dreamlike.
