Original Product Description:

Multi-Lite designer pendant Multi-Lite - Chrome frame This pendant luminaire is something very special: its shade consists of metal elements that can be slid around the central cylinder in different ways, so that a completely individual configuration with light emission upwards, downwards or asymmetrically can be created at any time. The creative mastermind behind this fascinating possibility of home lighting is Louis Weisdorf (*1932), a well-known Danish architect and designer. After graduating from the Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1954, he devoted himself to industrial, graphic and interior design and worked in a wide range of fields, including the leisure sector and construction. For ten years, he worked as chief assistant to the chief architect Simon P. Henningsen (son of the legendary lighting designer Poul Henningsen) at the Copenhagen amusement park Tivoli. In the late 1960s he founded his own design studio in Copenhagen. During his active time he worked with other renowned designers, including Poul Henningsen, Verner Panton and Le Klint. The Multi-Lite pendant lamp is manufactured by the Danish manufacturer Gubi, which has specialised in the production of high-quality furniture and lamps since its foundation by Lisbeth and Gubi Olsen in 1967.
