Original Product Description:

Adjustable floor lamp modular TYPE 556 - high-quality light dispenser in classic Bauhaus style An absolutely timeless design, perfect workmanship and outstanding flexibility make the floor lamp modular TYPE 556 a welcome addition to almost any environment. Emphasized simplicity and functionality is the design: the round base supports a frame of two slender arms made of steel, which hold a head made of aluminum in the shape of a truncated cone with a slightly slanted light output. Thanks to three joints made of metal in contrasting colors, the direction of light emission can be perfectly adjusted to the specific needs. For operation, modular TYP 556 is equipped with a rotary switch on the cap of the shade, the power connection is made via a plug cable in the black textile jacket. The original concept for this series of lamps was designed by Curt Fischer (1890 - 1956) in the 1930s. The engineer is considered the inventor of "steerable light" - an idea that manifests itself particularly clearly in this floor lamp. The company midgard, founded by Fischer, is still responsible for the manufacture of the lamps today and produces them including all components at locations in Germany.
