Designed in 1969, the Soft Pad armchair, or EA 222 to give it its full title, builds on the Eames much-loved Aluminium chair by adding plump cushioning. Providing fantastic posture support, the curving shape of this chair has been ergonomically designed with a fixed recline. Upholstered in a soft, semi-aniline leather, pads of thick cushioning on the backrest and a large furnished seat make the Soft Pad a pleasure to sit in. Following the curved line of the backrest and seat, the polished aluminium frame features streamlined armrests and a useful back bar for transporting the chair. Perfect as a reading chair for the living space, the Eames Soft Pad is mounted on a low seated five star polished base in die cast aluminium which features full 360 rotation, an adjustable back tilt and pneumatic seat height.
