The 45 Chair features boucle wool upholstery in Ruby, with the seat and backrest constructed to sit independently from the solid walnut frame. This deliberate separation between upholstered and wooden elements defines the original 1945 design, first presented at the Copenhagen Cabinetmaker's Guild Exhibition. The rich walnut frame deepens the contrast with the textured ruby boucle wool, while the open armrest construction contributes to the chair's characteristic structural openness.
