The Butter Together placemat combines artisan craftsmanship with natural materials, handwoven by artisans from Usiacurí on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. Using a traditional wireframe technique passed down through generations, dried Iraca palm fiber is woven over a shaped frame to create intricate, detailed patterns. The 80% Iraca palm construction gives each piece a textured, organic quality, with natural color and sizing variations inherent to the hand-making process. Spot cleaning with a damp cloth is recommended, and the mat should be stored away from direct sunlight to preserve the natural dyes.
