The Chandigarh Le Main Ouvert tray offers distinctive design with its unglazed porcelain construction and symbolic bas-relief detailing. Its square form features an open hand symbol at the centre, representing peace through a design originally sketched by Le Corbusier in 1956. The collaboration between Ginori 1735 and the Le Corbusier Foundation brings authentic Chandigarh architectural elements to this functional piece. The unglazed white porcelain provides durability while maintaining the artistic integrity of the original sketches.
Inspired by Le Corbusier, Cassina has teamed up with both Ginori 1735 and the Le Corbusier Foundation to produce a series of three porcelain trays that incorporate symbolic bas-relief designs found in the city of Chandigarh. This unglazed square tray features a open hand symbolising peace at its centre — a detail directly lifted from a design sketched by the Master in 1956.
