The Piano table features distinctive cogwheel carving patterns around its edges, creating a design reminiscent of piano keys when viewed from above. Cut from walnut wood with oil finish and supported by hand-welded steel rods with black powder coating, it combines expert craftsmanship with lightweight functionality. The multifunctional design complements various seating arrangements, while the steel frame construction provides reliable support.
Created by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba of Palomba Serafini Associati for Bosnian brand Zanat, the design brief presented for the 'Piano' series was straightforward — a collection of simple, lightweight and multifunctional coffee and side tables. The end result, however, belies the easy brief, with the final series seamlessly bringing together expert craftsmanship, a skilled use of high quality materials and a distinct 'wow' factor. Featuring a number of cogwheel carving patterns around its edges, this small 'Piano' table is reminiscent of piano keys when viewed from above — hence the name of the collection. Cut from black-stained walnut wood and propped by hand-welded steel rods with a black powder coated finish, the table makes a suitable companion to almost all seating in both residential and public settings. Alternatively, the table can be harmonized with other pieces from the same collection for a unexpected yet fully synchronised composition.
