Low Stool - Ash Wood

The Low Stool combines solid wood construction with traditional paper cord weaving techniques, handcrafted for authentic character. Its robust ash wood profile provides reliable support, while the woven paper cord seat adds textural contrast and comfortable seating. The design balances rustic craftsmanship with clean lines, featuring durable joinery that ensures long-lasting use.

Taken from Origin Made's 'Weaver Collection', the 'Low Stool' was designed by Gabriel Tan and handcrafted by Maria Adelina and Carlos Barbosa. Prompted by an encounter between Tan and Adelina, the last known weaver in the Portuguese furniture producing town of Paços Ferreira, the stool's design speaks to Adelina's passion for her craft through the use of simple materials and a focus on robust solid wood profiles and the application of paper cord weaving. The result is a piece — that also feature ash and oak wood — which feels both rustic and contemporary.
