The Grand Modele Armchair features a distinctive 'cushion basket' construction, originally conceived in 1928 as a modernist reinterpretation of the traditional club chair. Its frame-exposed design reverses conventional upholstery structures, with the steel frame sitting visibly outside the cushion assembly rather than beneath it. The down-filled cushions provide a soft, yielding seat, while the top grain leather upholstery in white delivers a smooth, refined surface with natural hide characteristics. The black powder-coated steel frame offers a durable, corrosion-resistant finish that contrasts with the crisp white leather.
