The Unearthed vase combines sculptural form with conceptual design through its organically shaped matte black ceramic construction. Its uneven surface features presses, dents and deliberate imperfections that create textural interest, while the ceramic material provides structural integrity. The piece offers a sense of movement and life with its unconventional approach to traditional ceramics.
Produced by London-based brand Completedworks in collaboration with the artist Ekaterina Bazhenova Yamasaki, this vase comes from a family of containers that offer sculptural forms and reject traditional ceramics' classical rules in favour of a conceptual, theme-based approach. The result is a piece that explores the essence of texture and shape via organically formed matte black ceramic and an uneven surface infused with presses, dents and imperfections that reflect Yamasaki's production process, and which imbue the vase a sense of movement and life.
