The Glass Newson Vase combines sculptural design with its flowing silhouette derived from the Orgone lounge chair form. Its paste-coloured transparent Murano glass construction provides luminous quality, while the curved profile adds distinctive character. The emerald green finish enhances the vessel's artistic appeal, and the transparent glass material highlights the design's organic curves.
Designed by Marc Newson in the 90s, the original incarnation of the 'Newson Vase' was produced by Cappellini in ceramic. This updated version of the sculptural vessel takes the same silhouette — inspired by the sinuous form of the 'Orgone' lounge chair, also by Newson — and applies it to a paste-coloured transparent Murano glass body. The result is a spectacular and instantly recognisable piece, where the curved shape of the design is accentuated by a modernised palette, whilst maintaining Newson's vision.
