The Glass Newson Vase features sculptural form with its sinuous shape inspired by chair design elements. Its paste-coloured transparent Murano glass body provides refined translucency, while the curved silhouette adds visual interest. The avio blue colouring complements the vessel's artistic nature, and the glass construction allows light to enhance the flowing design lines.
Designed by Marc Newson in the 90s, the original incarnation of the 'Newson Vase' was produced by Cappellini in ceramic. This updated version of the sculptural vessel takes the same silhouette — inspired by the sinuous form of the 'Orgone' lounge chair, also by Newson — and applies it to a paste-coloured transparent Murano glass body. The result is a spectacular and instantly recognisable piece, where the curved shape of the design is accentuated by a modernised palette, whilst maintaining Newson's vision.
