The Platner Armchair combines sculptural form with structural engineering through its iconic wire base, constructed from reinforced stainless steel rods welded to horizontal and edge framing wire for a stable foundation. Its soft curved silhouette, originally designed in the 1960s, is upholstered in top grain tan leather that contrasts with the warm gold-finished base. The welded wire construction distributes weight evenly while the curved seat shell provides a naturally supportive seating position.
