The Proust Chair offers baroque romance with its rotational-moulded polyethylene construction, featuring continuous hand-painted multi-coloured dots applied using the pointillism technique. Its weatherproof material provides durability for both indoor and outdoor use, while the industrial manufacturing process ensures consistent quality. The chair combines Alessandro Mendini's 1978 design heritage with contemporary materials, and the romantic silhouette adds character to any space.
Based on Alessandro Mendini's 'Poltrona di Proust' chair, designed in 1978, Magis' 2011 'Proust' chair is the same designer's contemporary update on the original. The first incarnation of the seat, which is characterised by continuous hand painted multi-coloured dots applied using the pointillism technique, is relived in this industrial rotational-moulded piece, where weatherproof polyethylene is shaped into a romantic, baroque chair that is suited to both indoor and outdoor use.
