The Cab 412 Chair offers distinctive design with its free-standing cowhide construction, featuring upholstery comprised of 16 pieces of saddle leather that are individually die-cut and subjected to 14 hand procedures. Its steel frame provides structural support, while the leather skin attaches with zip fastening for a tailored finish. The chair combines the relationship between skeleton and skin, with each piece carefully crafted to create a signature seating solution.

One of the world’s first free-standing cowhide design chairs, Mario Bellini's 'Cab 412' is informed by the relationship between the skeleton and the skin. As such, the signature piece from Cassina’s 'I Contemporanei' collection features upholstery comprised of 16 pieces of brown saddle leather, individually die-cut and then subjected to a further 14 procedures, all by hand. Once attached to the chair’s steel frame, the skin is secured with a zip fastening, akin to a bespoke tailored garment.
