The August lounge chair combines minimalist design with durable aluminium construction, inspired by monastic aesthetics. Its low, wide proportions with armrests provide comfortable seating, while the weather-resistant frame suits both indoor and outdoor use. The chair features a sleek profile that complements contemporary spaces.
One component of Vincent Van Duysen's 'Outdoor' collection for Serax — created when the designer was commissioned to convert the monastery of the former military hospital in Antwerp into a hotel — is its series of minimalist lounge chairs. A tangible link between the history of that environment and Van Duysen's modern interpretation, the aluminium chairs are inspired by monastic life while presenting the durability and modern-day comfort required of a contemporary furniture piece. Suited to both indoor and outdoor use, this black lounge chair with armrests offers low, wide proportions that lend themselves to an updated aesthetic. The cushion is not included, but is purchasable separately below.
