The monograph presents the complete works of Pieter Bruegel the Elder, gathering all 40 paintings, 65 drawings, and 89 engravings in a single XXL volume. Published to mark the 450th anniversary of his death, it coincides with his first monographic exhibition at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. Each piece is reproduced as a witness to both the religious mores and folk culture of Bruegel's time, with its imagery drawn from the Flemish Renaissance tradition.
