The Gravita bowl combines sculptural form with interactive movement through its balanced tilting mechanism. Crafted from matte rosso levanto marble, it sways gracefully when nudged before settling back to its natural position. The compact size suits intimate spaces, while the rich red marble provides striking visual contrast and substantial weight.
Designed by Lucas Pouly for Marsotto Edizioni, the 'Gravita' bowls are reminiscent of tilting dolls with their play on shape and balance. Like roly-poly dolls, when the bowls are nudged they wobble and sway, and the force of gravity acts on the center of gravity to produce a slight torque. The weightiness of the matte rosso levanto marble used here always causes this small bowl to return to its normal position from which its natural beauty can be observed.
