The Middle March Blues 292 Art Print combines stark black pigment with a clean neutral background to create visual impact. This framed print incorporates psychological themes that explore human thoughts, behaviour, and ways of being in the world. The striking portrait composition enhances themes of humour, pride, and irreverence through its compelling contrast and artistic execution.
Taken from Lemon's series of framed art prints by South African artist Ronelle Pienaar Jenkin, 'Middle March Blues 292' incorporates the themes that are central to the artist's work, namely psychology — our thoughts, behaviour and ways of being in the world. This striking portrait is all the more arresting for the use of stark black pigment on a clean and neutral background — a compelling contrast that only enhances the themes of ridicule, humour, pride, sanctimony, obscenity and irreverence that feature throughout Jenkin's work and this collection.
