Art House

Art House chronicles the forty-year collaboration between art collector Chara Schreyer and interior designer Gary Hutton, documenting five residences built around a collection of six hundred works. The book features photography by Matthew Millman alongside text by Alisa Carroll and a foreword by Neal Benezra, director of SFMOMA, grounding the visual content in curatorial and design context. Works by artists including Marcel Duchamp, Louise Bourgeois, Andy Warhol, and Eva Hesse are shown within spaces designed to be materially and intellectually sympathetic to the collection.
