This graceful little bud vase comes to us from Astier’s historic Paris workshop, where it was crafted from black terracotta clay, sourced from the Paris Basin, and carefully pressed into a handcarved plaster mold to create its simple, curvy silhouette. From there, it’s coated with brand’s signature milky white glaze, which lets hints of that natural clay color peek through. This slow-paced, traditional process preserves ceramic-making techniques that have been in practice since the Middle Ages, while also resulting in perfectly imperfect pieces that each have their own unique charm.
