Handcrafted using traditional techniques, the ceramic piece is buried and fired in an underground pit called a 'soenga' to achieve its dark matte finish. The seamless cup shape provides a minimal accent, while the unique firing process ensures each piece tells its own story through touch and visual texture.

Here, the process manifests in a family of vases designed by Gabriel Tan and handcrafted by João Lourenço, such as this seamless and minimal cup shaped piece, which introduces an elevated contemporary accent to spaces.
